Anne Pryde Pottery
Posted by Dean Gallant in recent work, web design on March 22nd, 2010
My amazing, lovely and talented wife—while doing the bulk of raising our daughter—and volunteering on the Board of the Ecology Action Centre—also finds time to make pottery. In fact, she’s a fresh and exciting ceramic artist.
Like the Chef who never cooks at home, I’ve been meaning to redesign her website for years. And, well.. we finally did it. A few weeks ago we launched the new annepryde.ca!
The clean and minimal site design really showcases what’s important: her work. Like all the web design I’m doing now, the site is search engine optimized and content-managed using the wordpress engine.
Anne’s work is available now at Love, Me boutique in downtown Halifax and she’ll be at the Halifax crafters spring show on April 17-18.

I’ve been doing some more work for Performance Genomics recently. So I guess they liked my brochure.
I’ve done an advertisement for an industry trade show, a powerpoint template for their presentations, and this here pop-up banner to the right.
Eastern Kings Sport Council
Posted by Dean Gallant in logos/identity, recent work on March 1st, 2010
The Eastern Kings Sports Council is a group of volunteers who are committed to enhancing sport, recreation and physical activity in the region. They came to me for a logo and this is one of the rare occasions when I get it right on the first try. No revisions, they loved it.
The mandate of the Sport Council is “working with communities, groups, schools and individuals in Eastern Kings to encourage participation in and promote the benefit of sport, physical activity and recreation in a supportive environment at all levels.” They wanted a logo which was modern, exciting, and will stand out on clothing.
Here are some notes form the design pitch:
- Vibrant colours suggest fun, movement, health & fitness.
- The abstract image gives a strong impression of motion and can be interpreted as a person running, a ball flying or any kind of activity.
- Representative of sport in general, without being specific.
