Farm Energy Nova Scotia is a new organization whose purpose is to provide the agricultural community with guidance and research for energy sustainability on farms. I was contacted to create a simple high impact logo. After evaluating the needs, goals & audience for their logo, I presented them with several options and (with additional refinements) this is what they chose.

The imagery of the sun is an effective metaphor for the idea of renewable resources, while the silhouette of a farm & windmill suggests it literally. Blue and green colours symbolize natural ideas of earth, plants & water.

Just completed a logo design for a proposed community bio energy plant on Prince Edward Island. The bio-fuel generation project would reduce carbon emissions and energy costs for the community by capturing steam from wood burning & use it to generate heat/power.

The logo incorporates a tree from the PEI flag and references the seaside community with water, seagulls & a lighthouse. The sun symbolizes energy & sustainability. The font is Cochin (appropriate for the French/Acadian community) which is consistent with the look & feel of the Souris Harbour Authority.

New logo design for “Move On Colchester”. A community-based campaign aimed at advancing the wider use of active transportation in the Colchester region. Of the four options I gave them, they chose my preference and I’m very pleased with the final result.

Some notes from the design pitch:
- Displaying a range of ages & demographics drives the message of broad community inclusiveness.
- Consistent movement from left to right is symbolic of forward momentum or achieving progress.
- Multiple colours of the individuals gives the impression of multiculturalism, while being non-specific.
- Vivid red is suggestive of movement, passion or a zest for life.
